Today, EDP informs the trade unions that integrate employees of its group companies, that are parties of the Collective Labour Agreement (CLA), that these companies will terminate the CLA in force since year 2000 and present a proposal for a new collective labour agreement.

EDP installed capacity reached 22.4GW in Jun-12, mainly backed by CO2-free technologies: wind and hydro represent two thirds of installed capacity. Capacity additions in the past 12 months were focused on hydro in Portugal (+437MW backed by completion of repowerings at Picote II and Bemposta II) and by wind (+282MW). In spite of dry weather in Iberia, c60% of the group's total generation in 1H12 derived from hydro and wind. Total generation totalled 29TWh in 1H12. Energy distributed by EDP rose 3% supported by gas in Iberia.

On July 31, 2012, Massachusetts Financial Services Company ("MFS") notified EDP regarding the decrease of a qualifying holding of 2.01% to 1.989% of the EDP share capital. The change of the participation resulted from the selling through NYSE Euronext Lisbon of 765,338 shares on July 30, 2012.

EDP, through its gas sector subsidiary in Spain, Naturgas Energía Grupo, S.A. has reached an agreement with Enagás, S.A., the Spanish gas transmission system operator, for the sale of the gas transmission business owned by EDP Group in Spain. The necessary agreement from Ente Vasco de la Energía has also been obtained.

EDP and EDP Finance BV signed a EUR 800,000,000 Multicurrency Term Facility Agreement with Bank of China.
