EDP achieves Excellence level in global efr certification
EDP has once again achieved the Excellence level in the efr certification, which assesses an organisation’s approach to work-life balance, flexibility and responsibility towards its employees. The efr (family-responsible companies) certification is an international model awarded by Fundación Másfamilia, recognising companies that promote structured work-life balance practices, focusing on areas such as flexibility, family support, development, and equal opportunities. The certification is granted following a rigorous external assessment process that evaluates the consistency and impact of these practices across the different geographies where EDP operates.
As part of the global efr certification renewal process, EDP has now attained the Excellence level, associated with the awarding of the Excellence distinction and reserved for organisations that ensure the consistent implementation of these practices on a global scale.
In recent years, EDP has strengthened its wellbeing approach through practices that are consistent across geographies while being adapted to local specificities. This journey has translated into the reinforcement of measures that include flexible ways of working, namely hybrid work models, family support initiatives, professional development programs, and policies that promote diversity and equal opportunities.
The evolution of this approach has been supported by continuous investment in employee benefits and wellbeing programs, as well as the implementation of structured listening and monitoring mechanisms that enable employee and leadership feedback to be consistently incorporated into decision-making processes.
At the same time, leadership has played a key role in consolidating this organisational culture, ensuring that wellbeing principles are embedded in the day-to-day experience of teams.
For EDP, achieving the Excellence level is not a destination, but rather a reinforcement of an ongoing commitment. The certification is valid for three years, until the end of 2028. As the group celebrates its 50th anniversary, it reaffirms its commitment to a people-centred strategy, ensuring that the principles of balance, flexibility and inclusion remain at the heart of its activities.
