Investigation on the termination of PPA contracts on power plants in Portugal and its replacement for CMEC
Pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of the article 17 of Regulation (EU) No. 596/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council and of article 248 of the Portuguese Securities code, EDP - Energias de Portugal, S.A. ("EDP") is providing the following information to the market:
Last Friday, EDP's headquarters were subject to a visit of a General Attorney from DCIAP, accompanied by the Portuguese Judicial Police, in order to proceed with searches. This visit was part of an ongoing investigation triggered by an anonymous complaint and is related with the termination of the PPA contracts on power plants in Portugal and its replacement for CMEC – started in 2004 – and aimed at obtaining documental elements related with the abovementioned procedures.
EDP's executive board has provided to investigators unrestricted access to all requested information and full cooperation in order to facilitate the total clarification of the facts.
EDP will collect some information today as part of the files consultation process, after which EDP plans to hold a public conference on the subject.
