ERSE announces electricity tariffs for 2019
ERSE announces electricity tariffs for 2019
Pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of the article 17 of Regulation (EU) No. 596/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council and of article 248-A of the Portuguese Securities code, EDP - Energias de Portugal, S.A. (“EDP”) is providing the following information to the market:
The Portuguese Electricity Regulator (“ERSE”) released yesterday the final document regarding the “Tariffs and prices for electricity in 2019” in Portugal. The final document introduces no material change to EDP or to the evolution of the Portuguese electricity system’s regulatory receivables, when compared to the proposal presented by ERSE on last October 15th. Recall that following the disclosure of this proposal, EDP issued a press release to the market with the relevant numbers and conclusions.
The tariff document now released contemplates a 3.5% average decline for Normal Low Voltage (NLV) electricity tariffs, compared to an average increase of 0.1% considered on the initial proposal (October 15th), which is justified by the transfer from the Portuguese State Sustainability Fund (FSSSE) to the Electricity System of some additional proceeds from the Extraordinary Energy contribution (‘CESE’) and revenues related with the sale of CO2 emission licenses, totalling €139 million.
