ENTAMA Portugal
Entrepreneurship
ENTAMA is an EDP initiative launched in 2019 to support and finance entrepreneurial projects that generate employment and promote sustainable development in the regions where the company operates.
In the last two years, ENTAMA has grown into an Iberian program that promotes entrepreneurship, job creation, and local development in rural communities

What is its purpose?
Its purpose is to create economic opportunities and drive sustainable development in the communities where EDP operates. By supporting entrepreneurship rooted in the territory, the program helps transform ideas into businesses that create jobs, generate long-term value and contribute to stronger, more resilient communities.
Through this approach, the program seeks to:
• Create stable local employment opportunities
• Support population retention in areas facing demographic challenges
• Generate local wealth with a positive social impact
• Foster sustainable businesses with long-term growth potential
• Strengthen the economic and social resilience of communities
How does it work?
ENTAMA operates through regional calls for proposals launched throughout the year in areas where EDP seeks to create a positive impact. Projects are evaluated by a multidisciplinary committee based on their viability, potential to create employment and contribution to sustainable territorial development.
The program prioritises initiatives that strengthen communities, create lasting social and economic value, and support a fair and inclusive energy transition.
Selected projects can receive up to €20,000 in funding, along with support and visibility through the ENTAMA community.
ENTAMA 2025-2026
In just two years, ENTAMA has grown from a regional program in Spain into an Iberian initiative that promotes entrepreneurship, job creation and local development in territories linked to the energy transition.
In 2025, its first fully Iberian year, ENTAMA supported 32 projects across Spain and Portugal, expanding to new regions and backing initiatives in areas such as sustainable tourism, agri-food, culture, innovation, digitalisation and the circular economy.
This momentum continued in 2026, with 20 new projects selected in Asturias and Cádiz. The supported initiatives range from gastronomy and tourism to health, training, sport and technology, demonstrating how local entrepreneurship can create economic opportunities and strengthen communities.
