SHIFTMAKERS
is an EDP educational program that raises awareness among young people, starting from the 7th grade, of today’s major challenges, including energy, sustainability, human rights, active citizenship, and inclusion. In this way, the program equips them to understand the importance of a just energy transition while promoting the development of the skills and knowledge needed to become active agents in building a more sustainable and inclusive future.
By fostering an intergenerational and inclusive ecosystem, SHIFTMAKERS also involves participants from the LIGA Foundation, including people with disabilities and seniors, valuing the diversity of perspectives and exposure to different realities as a driver of learning, empathy, and social transformation.
The program includes training sessions and volunteer activities that promote active citizenship and collaboration across different generations and sectors. To carry out these activities, it relies on a network of social partners, who are responsible for implementing the initiatives within the community, and corporate partners, who help facilitate the training sessions and raise awareness about the topics covered. The training sessions are developed with the support of Mentes Empreendedoras, the project’s implementation partner. See below for the sessions conducted in the 2025/2026 pilot program:

The program was designed to integrate into the educational system, directly aligning with the guidelines of ENEC 2025—the National Strategy for Citizenship Education (DGE).
