EDP strengthens its global leadership in climate and water transparency in the CDP
EDP is a leader in transparency and performance in the areas of climate change and water security, achieving an A score in Climate and an A- score in Water. EDP has been responding to the CDP Climate Change questionnaire since 2009, maintaining Leadership level since 2015, and to the CDP Water Security questionnaire since 2010, having achieved Leadership level for the first time in 2019.
EDP was recognized for its leadership role and performance in tackling climate change by CDP, the non-profit environmental organization that includes the company in its annual ‘A List’. EDP is part of a restricted group of global companies which, out of more than 22,100 companies assessed, achieved the top ‘A’ rating. The company also stood out in the area of water security, which assesses the companies that have most reduced risks and best managed this resource.
This is the seventh consecutive year that EDP has maintained a leadership position in both criteria (Climate and Water), further reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and the energy transition. Fully aligned with the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures), CDP holds the world’s largest environmental database, and its ratings are used as a benchmark in investment and procurement decision-making processes towards a sustainable and carbon-neutral economy.
