ERSE ANNOUNCES ITS PROPOSAL FOR ELECTRICITY TARIFFS IN 2027
ERSE announces its proposal for electricity tariffs in 2027
Lisbon, October 15th, 2026: The Portuguese Electricity Regulator (“ERSE”) announced its proposal for electricity tariffs in 2027 on which it is worth noting the following:
An increase of 3.7% in end users’ regulated electricity tariffs for 2027 in the normal low voltage (NLV) segment, compared to the year 2026 average, which includes residentials and SMEs electricity consumers. This reflects the increase in the energy tariff mitigated by the 13.7% decrease in the grid access tariffs.
ERSE proposed that regulated gross profit for the activity of electricity distribution, operated by E-REDES, is €1,224 million in 2027 (including previous years’ adjustments), an increase of €12 million YoY, excluding the €40 million impact from the end of actuarial gains and losses payments. For the last resort electricity supply (operated by SU Eletricidade), ERSE proposed a regulated gross profit of €43 million in 2027.
According to ERSE's proposal, the amount of tariff deficit of the electricity system in Portugal is expected to continue to decrease in 2027 to €552 million, which represents a reduction of around 50% compared to the estimated level for 2026, excluding any additional tariff deferrals.
In line with electricity regulation rules in Portugal, the Tariffs Advisory Board shall issue its nonbinding opinion until November 16th. Following that, ERSE will approve the final tariffs and parameters until December 15th, 2026.
