EDP secures 384 MW of Solar and Storage in the US

Lisbon, August 1st, 2025: EDP, S.A. (“EDP”), through its 71.3% owned subsidiary EDP Renováveis, S.A. (“EDPR”), informs that EDPR, through its fully owned subsidiary EDP Renewables North America LLC, has signed a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (“PPA”) with Ava Community Energy for the clean energy generated by a 200 MWac (265 MWdc) solar project, along with a 20-year Capacity Tolling Agreement for the 184 MW (736 MWh) co-located Battery Energy Storage System (“BESS”).

The projects, located in Fresno County, California, US, are scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2026.

With this agreement, EDP expands its North American footprint, building on its 3.4 GW of solar and 0.5 GW of BESS capacity in operation or under construction. This milestone reinforces EDP’s low-risk, long-term growth strategy and its commitment to innovation and storage technologies as key enablers of the energy transition and decarbonization.
