The partnership, which started in 2022, now includes six solar plants with a joint installed capacity of 16 MWp, reflecting EDP’s commitment to its clients and the quality of its solutions, while reaffirming Verallia’s drive toward more sustainable production.

The Chiaramonte project reinforces Italy as a core growth market for EDP’s global renewable strategy. The plant, with an installed capacity of 70.5 MWp, will generate approximately 117 GWh of electricity per year.

Monti di Eboli, the first pasture-based photovoltaic park in Campania, combines renewable energy generation with sustainable livestock farming, hosting 250 sheep in a park that can and will deliver the energy to power around 6.500 households.

With over 1.5 MWp of installed capacity generating nearly 2 GWh of clean electricity annually, the system will avoid around 864 tons of CO₂ emissions each year.

The installation will be able to produce 3.5 GWh of clean energy and store it in a battery system (BESS) with a capacity of 1 MWh, allowing IGAT to increase its share of sustainable energy from renewable sources.

Four EDP’s photovoltaic installations distributed in Spain, Italy, and APAC are already operational. In Italy concretely, the PV plant has an installed capacity of over 1.7 MWp.

The company continues to build its presence in renewables in Italy by adding two new projects that will be able to power jointly the equivalent of close to60,000 homes, thus avoiding annually 67,000 tons of CO2 emissions.

These contracts are for three renewable projects totaling 100 MW in southern Italy.This move strengthens the implementation of Italy's energy transition, aligning with the country's goal of reaching 80 GW of installed capacity by 2030.

Verallia, a company specialized in sustainable glass packaging, has chosen EDP for a 15MWp solar energy contract. The partnership is the largest announced so far by EDP in Italy and one of the largest in Europe.

EDP Renewables connects a new wind farm in Sicily, in Fulgatore, a hamlet in the municipality of Trapani.

The purchase of Enertel strengthens the EDP Group commercial area's internationalization strategy for other European markets. With four million customers in Portugal and 30,000 contracts in Spain, EDP Comercial is now providing energy and solar panels to companies in Italy and Poland.
