In 2012, EDP again took part in the Clinton Global Initiative, and annual conference held in New York, where world political leaders, major companies, NGOs, foundations and philanthropists gather to debate and address the most pressing global challenges. EDP has taken part in the Clinton Global Initiative since 2009, when it presented the Kakuma Project together with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. As part of this project, EDP took panels, lamps, stoves and solar lanterns to the Kakuma Refugee camp in Kenya, to promote safety and improve the quality of life of over 70 thousand people.
