EDP - Energias de Portugal, S.A. hereby informs, pursuant to articles 11 and 13 of CMVM Regulation no. 5/2008, that on May, 29 and June, 1, 2009, it has acquired in the market a total of 722,130 own shares at an average price of €2,835 per share.

The shares above indicated were delivered to workers, today, at the above mentioned average price, over-the-counter, as payment in kind of a part of the annual bonus granted in accordance with both the company's and the individual performances, which potential attribution is decided on an annual basis by the Executive Board of Directors, in accordance with standards previously set out.
