Pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of article 248-B of the Portuguese Securities code and article 14 of the Portuguese Securities Commission Regulation no. 5/2008, EDP - Energias de Portugal SA ("EDP") provides the following information to the market:

Mr. Nuno Maria Pestana de Almeida Alves, member of EDP's Executive Board of Directors ("EBD"), informed EDP that, on the present date, he has acquired 12,500 shares of EDP's share capital, at a price of 2.945 euros per share.

Moreover, EDP informs that, after the above-mentioned acquisition, Mr. Nuno Maria Pestana de Almeida Alves holds 137,500 shares of EDP's share capital.
