EDP Renováveis, 100% owned by EDP Group, contracted today the procurement of wind turbines from Acciona Windpower under the following terms:

. Supply, installation, commissioning and operation and maintenance of wind turbine units with 1.5MW capacity representing a total installed capacity of 382.5 MW to be delivered in 2009-2011.

. Call option on 1.5 MW and 3 MW wind turbine units representing a total installed capacity of 400 MW to be delivered in 2009-2011.

This contract provides to EDP Renováveis a high level of flexibility, given that the wind turbines now contracted can be installed in Europe or North America and contemplates several options in terms of wind turbine classes and models to be installed in EDP Renováveis wind farms.

EDP Renováveis established as target an installed capacity growth of 1.4 GW per annum, on average, during the 2008-2012 period. Following the contract signed today, EDP Renováveis increases to 80% the level of turbines contracted over the needs defined by the company for the capacity to be installed in 2010.
