EDP and CPI sign memorandum of understanding for a possible partnership
EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A. ("EDP") and China Power International Holding Ltd ("CPI") reached an agreement for a possible partnership regarding Companhia de Electricidade de Macau ("CEM") and to take advantage of business opportunities for both companies within the scope of the energy business, both in the Asian markets and in the markets where EDP currently operates.
EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A. ("EDP") and China Power International Holding Ltd ("CPI") reached an agreement for a possible partnership regarding Companhia de Electricidade de Macau ("CEM") and to take advantage of business opportunities for both companies within the scope of the energy business, both in the Asian markets and in the markets where EDP currently operates.
Considering the strategic meaning that this partnership might develop into, CPI manifested its interest regarding a potential entry into EDP's share capital.
The reinforcement of cooperation between EDP and CPI comes in a time of renewal, by the Special Administrative Region of Macau and CEM, of the concession for the transmission, distribution and supply of electricity in Macau, for a 15 years period.
