The Central Valley represents only one percent of the total acreage of our nation’s agricultural lands, yet it produces one-fourth of all our nation’s food. Now, a new Valley crop is achieving equally remarkable results: clean energy.

As a proud member of the team at EDP Renewables North America’s (EDPR NA) Top Crop Wind Farm, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of renewable energy in the communities of Grundy and LaSalle counties in Illinois. Our wind farm has not only harnessed the energy of the wind but also sowed the seeds of sustainability, and community development.

Spanning from Illinois down South to Texas, West to California, and then up North to Canada, these ten projects have safely and reliably generated renewable energy powering the equivalent average of more than 476,400 North American homes each year.

Yamal will oversee EDP’s growing western and central regions, as well as Mexico.
