Today, Moody's Investors Service has affirmed the A3 ratings of Energias de Portugal, S.A. with a stable outlook.

The Brazilian electricity regulator, ANEEL, approved a 7.19% tariff reset index for EDP Escelsa, for the period from August 7th 2010 to August 6th  2011.

Within the scope of the privatization process of Naturgas Energia Grupo, S.A. ("Naturgas") which occurred in 2003, Hidroeléctrica Del Cantábrico S.A. ("HC) (96,86% owned by EDP) acquired a controlling stake in Naturgas and closed with Ente Vasco De La Energia ("EVE"), a shareholder agreement valid until July 30th, 2010, which included a put option for part or the whole of EVE's stake in Naturgas, to be exercised at market value until July 30th, 2010.

On September 30, 2010, PARPÚBLICA – Participações Públicas (SGPS), S.A. notified EDP to the increase of a qualifying holding of 20.05% to 22.55% of the share capital of EDP. The change in participation is a result of the acquisition of 91,413,443 category A shares (representing 2.50% of EDP's share capital) from Caixa Geral de Depósitos, S.A.

Today, in accordance with Law 17/2007 of July 4th, which modifies law 54/97 of the Spanish Electricity Sector and obliges distribution companies to sell their transmission assets to Red Eléctrica de España, S.A.U. ("REE"), Hidrocantabrico Distribución Eléctrica, S.A.U. ("HC Distribución"), EDP Group's subsidiary for the electricity distribution business in Spain, signed an agreement for the sale of its transmission assets to REE for €58million.

EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A. ("EDP") and China Power International Holding Ltd ("CPI") reached an agreement for a possible partnership regarding Companhia de Electricidade de Macau ("CEM") and to take advantage of business opportunities for both companies within the scope of the energy business, both in the Asian markets and in the markets where EDP currently operates.

No dia 20 de Maio de 2010, a EDP realizou o seu investor day, tendo nesse mesmo dia arquivado no site da CMVM a respectiva apresentação. Na terceira parte dessa apresentação (página 35), a EDP anunciou ter flexibilidade para gerir/reduzir o seu investimento em 2011 e 2012. A notícia do Jornal de Negócios de hoje em nada altera a informação que foi transmitida no Investor Day, na medida em que apenas refere uma redução do investimento já prevista como possível na plano de negócios então apresentado.
