The Portuguese independent energy services regulator, ERSE, made public today the final document "Tariffs and prices for electricity and other services in 2010", which set a 2.9% average increase of final electricity tariffs in Portugal mainland for 2010.

The Brazilian electricity regulator, ANEEL, approved a 5.46% annual tariff readjustment index for EDP Bandeirante, for the period from October 2009 to October 2010.

EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A. hereby informs that Société Nacionale pour la Recherche, la Production, le Transport, la Transformation et la Commercialisation des Hydrocarbures ("Sonatrach"), a member of the General and Supervisory Board, appointed Mr. Farid Boukhalfa as representative to exercise the office in replacement of Mr. Mohamed Meziane, who resigned to such function.

Following the disclosure of the qualified shareholding released on December 7th, 2009 in relation to the voting rights attributable to BlackRock, Inc, as a result of the 139,884,362 shares of EDP's share capital, corresponding to 3.83% of the share capital and 3.86% of the respective voting rights, which are held by entities under its control, EDP hereby comunicates, based on information in the meantime provided by BlackRock, Inc.

Following the obtention of the required authorizations by the Spanish regulatory and competition authorities, EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A. completed today the acquisition from Gas Natural SDG, S.A. of its low pressure natural gas distribution and supply (including last resource) activities in the regions of Cantabria and Murcia, as well as the high pressure natural gas distribution assets in the regions of the Basque Country, Asturias and Cantabria, as it had been preliminarlly announced to the market on July 20, 2009.

EDP Renováveis S.A. ("EDPR"), a subsidiary 77,5% controlled by EDP and listed in the Euronext Lisbon Stock Exchange, acquires 85% of Italian Wind srl, from Co-Ver group (an industrial conglomerate from the north of Italy), adding to its portfolio several wind projects in Italy totalling 520 MW in different stages of maturity and in prime locations: i) 4 wind projects totalling 108 MW classified as Tier 2; ii) 98 MW of projects classified as Tier 3; and iii) 314 MW classified as prospects.
