EDP recognized as one of the world’s best companies to work for in 2026
The international recognition of EDP and EDP Renewables, which earned the Top Employer 2026 certification, was further strengthened this year with the addition of Germany, covering a total of twelve markets.
EDP once again joins the group of companies certified as Top Employer 2026, achieving results above the average recorded in the global market and within the energy sector. This distinction, renewed for the ninth consecutive year, is solid evidence of the group’s continuous investment in evolving with best people management practices to build an increasingly employee-centric workplace.
Present in four regions of the globe — Europe, North America, South America and Asia-Pacific — EDP was once again recognized this year by the Top Employers Institute, reinforcing the group’s positioning in Portugal, Spain and Brazil. In the case of EDP Renewables, the recognition covers Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Romania, Brazil, Chile, Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and, for the first time, Germany. In addition, having been certified in eight European countries, EDP Renewables was also awarded the Top Employer Europe seal.
As part of this recognition, EDP underwent a rigorous certification process that audited around 250 people management practices across 20 distinct dimensions of the employee experience. The results show that the company is a benchmark in the areas of organization and change, HR digitalization, and ethics and integrity, where it achieved the highest score. It also stands out in the market in the dimensions of performance, thanks to its culture focused on development, purpose and sustainability, key attributes of its value proposition.
Practices such as the global alumni network, transparency in communicating the compensation and benefits model, the global internal mobility opportunities marketplace for employees, as well as the integration and monitoring of AI tools, were recognized for their robustness compared to other certified companies.
These results reflect the company’s commitment to promoting an agile, balanced and development-oriented work environment for its employees, while also responding to emerging global market trends.
