EDP and Bolt reduce EV charging costs for electric fleet drivers in Portugal
EDP's new fixed tariff for Bolt enables electric fleet drivers to charge at a flat rate of €0.45/kWh, with all costs included, until the end of 2026.
EDP Comercial has launched, in partnership with Bolt, the EDP Fixed Tariff, a new solution designed to provide greater cost predictability and control for professionals who rely on electric mobility every day.
Under this new offer, Bolt drivers and fleet operators can charge their electric vehicles at public charging stations operated by EDP Comercial at a flat rate of €0.45/kWh, with all costs included: electricity, charging point usage and taxes.
In addition to its competitive price, the new tariff allows drivers to know exactly how much they will pay for each charging session, eliminating the uncertainty associated with the different pricing components of Portugal's public charging network and making day-to-day operating costs easier to manage.
More chargers available for the summer holiday season
Alongside solutions that make electric vehicle charging simpler and more predictable, EDP and Repsol continue to invest in expanding and upgrading the public charging network, strengthening the infrastructure available along Portugal's main road corridors.
EDP has recently increased charging capacity at the Grândola (A2), Vendas Novas (A6), CREL (A9), Gaia (A1) and Penafiel (A4) service areas by installing 36 new charging points and increasing the available power to up to 400 kW per charger. During the summer, the network will continue to expand with the installation of eight new ultra-fast chargers at the Antuã service area (northbound on the A1 motorway), further increasing charging availability for electric vehicle users.
There are now 105 charging points installed along Portugal's main motorways as part of the partnership between EDP, Brisa, Repsol and bp. This collaboration has played a key role in expanding the country's electric vehicle charging network and improving access to charging solutions for drivers travelling on Portugal's main roads.
This investment reflects the strong growth of electric mobility in Portugal. Since 2018, EDP has contracted more than 4,000 charging points across the country and has carried out more than 4.2 million public charging sessions, enabling over 600 million kilometres to be driven using electricity while avoiding more than 74,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
With more than 175,000 active EDP Charge cards and an expanding presence along Portugal's main transport corridors, EDP continues to strengthen its position as one of the leading drivers of electric mobility in Portugal, supported by strategic partnerships that help expand and improve the accessibility of the country's charging infrastructure.
