EDP launches the 4th edition of the Iberian Entama programme across 11 municipalities in northern Portugal
Applications for the new edition of EDP’s entrepreneurship programme are open from 1 August to 13 September. The initiative has already supported 14 projects in Portugal and helped create around 30 jobs, promoting the sustainable development of local communities.
EDP is launching the 4th edition of Entama in Portugal, the Iberian programme that supports local entrepreneurship in the regions where the company operates in Portugal and Spain. Applications are open from 1 August to 13 September and are aimed at entrepreneurs with projects to be developed in Amares, Amarante, Arcos de Valdevez, Boticas, Lamego, Montalegre, Ponte da Barca, Póvoa de Lanhoso, Terras de Bouro, Vieira do Minho and Vila Pouca de Aguiar.

Since its launch in Portugal, Entama has completed three editions, supporting 14 projects and helping to create around 30 jobs. Through this initiative, EDP seeks to foster local value creation and support innovative solutions that address the social, economic and environmental challenges faced by the participating territories.
Created in 2019, Entama promotes projects that make use of local resources, encourage innovation and contribute to the economic development of rural and semi-rural areas, while also helping to address the challenges associated with depopulation.
More than a financial support programme, Entama combines investment, mentoring and partnerships with local organisations to support sustainable business models and generate a positive impact within communities. This new edition reinforces EDP’s commitment to creating opportunities in inland regions, encouraging entrepreneurship, job creation and population retention in lower-density areas.
The programme is developed as part of EDP Y.E.S. (You Empower Society), the Group’s global social impact strategy, which foresees a total investment of €300 million by 2030 to support more than 500 social responsibility projects across different regions.
