CTT and EDP join forces to offer energy plans at CTT locations
Two of Portugal’s largest companies strengthen their relationship following the launch of solar neighbourhoods with free energy sharing for CTT neighbours.
CTT – Correios de Portugal and EDP are strengthening their partnership to provide customers with a new, simple and convenient way to subscribe to EDP Comercial’s energy plans. Customers will be able to learn more about EDP Comercial’s offers at CTT outlets across Portugal, quickly simulating potential savings and completing their subscription directly on site.
This service is already available at more than 260 CTT outlets, across all districts of mainland Portugal. It is expected to be progressively extended to additional locations, leveraging the extensive retail network of CTT, which spans the country from north to south.
Through this partnership, CTT reinforces its strategy to expand and diversify its service offering, providing customers with solutions from a leading partner in the energy sector. This collaboration with EDP Comercial adds value to CTT’s existing offer, positioning CTT outlets as convenient one-stop locations where customers can access multiple services in a single space.
The proximity and convenience of the CTT network make it easier and more accessible for customers to obtain information about EDP Comercial’s offers or even complete the entire process of switching energy supplier.
In turn, EDP further strengthens its commitment to making life simpler and more convenient for Portuguese families, offering accessible and easy-to-subscribe electricity solutions through the country’s largest retail network. This expanded presence allows EDP Comercial to remain close to consumers, consolidating its leadership in the energy market, with more than three million families as customers.
The goal of both companies is to ensure that, regardless of geographical location, CTT customers have easy and convenient access to information and electricity solutions from EDP Comercial.
Through EDP’s channels - edp.pt, telephone lines, as well as EDP Comercial stores and agents nationwide, the company currently offers a range of plans with discounts on the price per kWh, on contracted power or with a fixed monthly discount, tailored to the different profiles and energy needs of households.
EDP and CTT have a long-standing partnership focused on the development of solutions and products that contribute to decarbonisation. In 2022, the two companies established a strategic partnership to install Solar Neighbourhoods in dozens of locations, enabling CTT to generate its own energy, reduce dependence on the grid and share the benefits with around 8,000 families and small businesses. In subsequent years, CTT selected EDP Comercial as the exclusive energy supplier to deploy 750 charging points, supporting the electrification of its fleet of nearly 1,500 vehicles. More recently, the partnership was further strengthened with the integration of 200 CTT stores as neighbours of EDP Solar Neighbourhoods, promoting the expansion of this model in Portugal.
