EDP Announces Support for Incentivized Projects in 8 States in 2026
EDP, a company active across all areas of the Brazilian electricity sector, has announced the 19 initiatives that will be carried out in 2026 in regions where the company operates, with an investment of approximately R$ 6.2 million. These are social, sports, and health projects selected through the Public Call for Incentivized Projects, chosen from more than 160 submissions, and will receive funding via federal incentive laws.
The initiatives will take place in eight states—Espírito Santo, Goiás, Maranhão, Paraíba, Piauí, Santa Catarina, São Paulo, and Tocantins—where EDP operates in different segments such as renewable energy generation, transmission, and distribution. They reinforce the company’s commitment to community development.
During the Public Call, projects were evaluated by a committee based on criteria such as social impact, itinerancy, potential for job and income generation, contribution to a just energy transition, and alignment with the pillars Education for the Future and Energy of Tomorrow, which guide the company’s social investment strategy.
The Call for Incentivized Projects is one of EDP’s initiatives to contribute to social development by generating long-term positive impact. In addition to the initiatives selected through the call, the company is also directing more than R$ 3 million, via the Federal Law for Cultural Incentives, to six other cultural projects taking place in 2026 in Espírito Santo, Goiás, Santa Catarina, and São Paulo.
