Entrepreneurship

A programme that promotes local job creation, strengthens regional roots and generates real social impact

What is ENTAMA?

ENTAMA is an EDP initiative launched in 2019 to support and finance entrepreneurial projects that generate local, non-relocatable employment in the regions where the company operates in Spain and Portugal.

In 2026, ENTAMA will be consolidated as an Iberian programme, integrated into EDP's Community Engagement strategy, with a clear objective: to promote regional roots through entrepreneurship, strengthening local economies and contributing to a fair, inclusive energy transition with a future.

ENTAMA supports initiatives that originate in the territory and remain there, promoting a real and measurable social impact based on the creation of stable employment, economic revitalisation and the sustainable use of local resources.

What is its purpose?

ENTAMA's purpose is to generate economic opportunities in the local communities where EDP operates, with a special focus on those areas where they are most needed, particularly municipalities undergoing energy transition and rural areas at risk of depopulation, contributing to:

•    The creation of deep-rooted local employment linked to the territory
•    The settlement and retention of population in areas at risk of depopulation
•    The generation of wealth from the local level, with a positive social impact
•    The development of sustainable business models with a long-term vision

ENTAMA is committed to entrepreneurship that does not relocate, that creates value in local communities and strengthens their economic and social resilience.

How does it work?

ENTAMA is a programme that runs throughout the year, organised through specific calls for proposals by geographical area, activated progressively according to EDP's priority areas of action.

The projects submitted are evaluated by a multidisciplinary committee from EDP. In addition to economic viability and job creation potential, ENTAMA places particular value on projects that generate a positive and lasting impact on the territory.

The selection process will take into account the following aspects, among others:

• Creation of local supplier networks, promoting the local economy
• Improvement or reinforcement of municipal and community services
•    Recovery and enhancement of local resources, both tangible and intangible
•    Promotion of sustainable tourism that respects the environment and the community
•    Contribution to the fight against depopulation and the strengthening of local roots
•    Promotion of gender equality and social inclusion
•    Adoption of new technologies that improve the efficiency, sustainability or impact of the project

We are looking for projects that originate in the territory, generate local jobs that cannot be relocated and contribute to a real social impact, in line with a fair energy transition with a future.

Each selected project can receive up to €20,000 in funding, as well as support and visibility within the ENTAMA community.

ENTAMA 2026: an Iberian programme activated by territories

In 2026, ENTAMA is strengthening its territorial model, activating calls for proposals in specific areas of Spain and Portugal, aligned with:

  • Municipalities linked to EDP's Just Transition Agreements in Spain
  • Municipalities with EDP hydroelectric power stations
  • Territories with renewable projects (wind, solar or batteries) in operation or development
  • Rural municipalities with relevant electricity distribution infrastructure

This approach allows the programme to be adapted to the real needs of each territory and maximises its social and economic impact.
