If you are a person with a disability who is studying, working, or looking for new challenges, this is your chance to showcase your unique talent to help generate energy for the planet — while growing your career and expanding your professional network.
 

About the program
RiseAbility is an initiative taking place in Portugal and Spain, designed to empower people with visible and invisible disabilities to strengthen their career development and better prepare for the challenges of the job market. Over the course of one month, participants will reflect on their strengths, set clear goals, and develop essential skills for professional success.

How does the selection process work?

Online application

Complete our application form. If needed, you can ask a friend or family member for help.

Evaluation and selection

Our team of specialists will carry out a fully digital, inclusive, and efficient process to ensure a positive and memorable experience for all candidates.

Applications are open until 31 October.

The programme will run from 10 November to 19 December.

What we offer

  • A one-month experience with development activities in hybrid or remote formats.
  • The opportunity to learn and strengthen valuable skills for your professional future (e.g. social, technological, and interpersonal skills).

What we are looking for

  • People aged 18 or over, with visible or invisible disabilities, who are studying, have recently completed their studies, or are working and wish to develop new skills to access further opportunities.
  • Basic digital skills, as the programme will take place in a hybrid or remote format.
  • Good command of English, Portuguese or Spanish, to ensure full participation throughout the programme.

This training initiative aims to empower people with disabilities by enhancing their professional development. Through activities focused on transferable skills, we offer an experience that helps participants reflect on their strengths, set clear goals, and develop essential abilities for career growth.

At EDP, we are committed to inclusion and to creating equal opportunities for people with disabilities, who often face additional challenges. With this programme, we aim to support their talent, help them overcome barriers, and unlock their full potential. This initiative promotes diversity, brings new perspectives, and contributes to building a more equitable and sustainable future.

The programme is aimed at people with visible or invisible disabilities who are studying, have recently completed their studies, or are currently working and want to develop new skills to access future career opportunities.

Participation requirements:

  • People with visible or invisible disabilities.
  • Students or professionals looking to develop new skills and explore new opportunities.
  • Basic digital skills, as the programme will take place in a hybrid or remote format.
  • Good command of English, Portuguese or Spanish.

The selection process is 100% digital and consists of two phases:

  1. Online application: complete the form and submit the necessary documents.
  2. Screening and selection: our DEIB team will review your application quickly, inclusively, and efficiently.

If you need it, you can ask a family member or friend for help during the process, or write to us at inclusion.office@edp.com, where our team will be available to assist you.

The programme sessions will be tailored to participants' needs. They can take place in the morning, afternoon or evening, including after working hours, so that everyone can participate, regardless of their schedule.

  • Skills development: participants will have access to development activities (two per month), in hybrid or remote format, covering social, technological and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional experience: participants will have the opportunity to experience disruptive development formats, such as job shadowing.
  • CV enhancement: by participating, you can enrich your CV with new skills and experiences
  • Expansion of your network: you will have the opportunity to increase your professional network through mentoring and networking activities.

The programme does not offer financial compensation, but it provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience for your future career.

Although it does not guarantee direct job offers at the end, its purpose is to increase your employability by providing hands-on experience, professional guidance, and a stronger CV. In addition, the network of contacts you build during the programme may open doors to new career opportunities.

The programme has been designed to be fully inclusive, welcoming people with both visible and invisible disabilities. The selection process is accessible, and additional support is available if you need assistance during the application or participation stages.

After applying, our DEIB team will conduct the screening and selection process. If selected, you will receive more information about the programme's activities and schedule. Development sessions will begin in the following weeks, with the possibility of participating in remote or hybrid activities.
