Jacobo Trigo and Lucía Machado, winners of the Surf Pro Spain 2025 league
This weekend saw the end of the second edition of the EDP Surf Pro Spain league, an initiative that has managed to establish itself as a leading championship in Spain. Promoted and sponsored by EDP, the championship consisted of five events: Yerbabuena (Barbate-Cádiz), Surf Music and Friends (Salinas-Asturias), Festival Escuela Cántabra (Somo-Cantabria), Surf City Gijón (Asturias) and, finally, La Invernal (Laredo-Cantabria).
The league winners were Jacobo Trigo from Cantabria and Lucía Machado from the Canary Islands, who stood out throughout the championship, each winning two of the events and obtaining good scores in the others, thus demonstrating their leadership.
With a total of €8,000 in prize for each event, the championship has become the perfect showcase for promising young surfers and also for observing the progress of professionals in this sport.
