EDP is looking for startups with innovative solutions for its customers
2026 continues the 9th edition of EDP’s Innovation Programme – Energy Starter – which concludes with the third module of the programme, focused on Client Solutions.
In this third and final module, EDP is seeking startups that offer renewable energy solutions aimed at supporting customers in their decarbonisation journey, enabling fast deployment and increasing the efficiency of distributed energy generation.
Solutions addressing topics such as:
• Energy flexibility
• Energy storage
• Solar DG O&M
• Solar DG installation
• Electrification of industrial heat
Applications for this module are now open and will run until 15 February.

Energy Starter is EDP’s open innovation program, launched in 2016, focused on business development for startups looking to rapidly scale their solutions. By working with EDP, startups gain an innovation partner that is a global leader in the energy sector, operating across multiple continents and with a strong track record in developing and adopting groundbreaking technologies.
Through this programme, EDP has already launched more than 140 pilot projects, 40 commercial implementations and 30 venture capital investments with alumni from these initiatives, representing around 140 million euros in agreements.
