EDP launches the seventh edition of ENTAMA, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable development in the regions
The application period opens today, 10 March, and will remain open until 26 April.
The current call for proposals will support projects in municipalities in Asturias and Cádiz, offering up to €20,000 per project.
EDP, a leading renewable energy company, is launching the seventh edition of ENTAMA, the second in Iberia, consolidating this programme as one of its main tools for supporting local entrepreneurship and revitalising the regions where it operates.
This new edition reinforces EDP's commitment to a just energy transition, focused not only on developing renewable infrastructure, but also on creating sustainable economic opportunities, strengthening the local productive base and improving the quality of life in municipalities undergoing energy transition in Spain and Portugal.
ENTAMA has established itself as a driver of socio-economic revitalisation, supporting entrepreneurial initiatives that contribute to creating stable, locally rooted jobs, diversifying the local economy and encouraging the population to settle, especially in areas at risk of depopulation. A programme that continues to grow year after year and which, in this 2026 edition, will support flagship projects in Cádiz and Asturias.
In Asturias, ENTAMA will be rolled out in the municipalities of Allande, Aller, Belmonte de Miranda, Cangas del Narcea, Carreño, Caso, Corvera de Asturias, Degaña, Gozón, Ibias, Laviana, Lena, Llanera, Mieres, Morcín, Proaza, Quirós, Ribera de Arriba, Riosa, Salas, Santo Adriano, Sobrescobio, Somiedo, Teverga, Tineo and Villaviciosa, prioritising initiatives with a direct impact on local employment and on mobilising local assets. In Cádiz, the municipalities of Los Barrios, San Roque, and La Línea de la Concepción.
Since its launch, the programme has supported more than 89 entrepreneurial projects, reaching a total investment of more than €875,000. The initiatives supported cover strategic areas for local development such as the enhancement of natural and cultural resources, craft and agri-food products, sustainable tourism, the circular economy, digitalisation, innovation and the creation of local services, which are key to ensuring the quality of life in these municipalities over the medium and long term.
Over the years, ENTAMA has supported projects that not only generate economic activity but also help to stabilise the population, attract talent and strengthen the sense of belonging to the region.
In Asturias, ENTAMA has supported projects such as Jarascada Guías de Montaña y Naturaleza (Mountain and Nature Guides), which promotes active ecotourism specialising in the natural environment of Asturias; Formato Papel, in Carreño, which revives traditional bookbinding as an economically viable activity linked to local identity; and projects such as Hidromiel Zángana, which produces traditional mead-based beverages, and Nutrición Valles del Trubia, which aims to improve the wellbeing of the rural population. Projects that combine economic sustainability, local employment and responsible use of local resources.
ENTAMA has also supported innovative proposals in Cadiz, such as Restaurante Síntesis (Synthesis Restaurant), a gastronomic project committed to local produce and suppliers; Boombox Academy, an urban dance school; and Gestecnova Carteia, a technical consulting firm specialising in engineering, industrial safety and energy transition. All of these are examples of how local entrepreneurship can become an effective tool for revitalising the region and bringing stability to the population.
The deadline for submitting applications begins today, 10 March, and will continue until 26 April. The jury will pay particular attention to the project’s economic viability and sustainability, and to its impact on local development and employment. The results will be announced in May, and projects will be delivered throughout the year.
The call guidelines are available on the ENTAMA website, www.comunidadentama.com, along with the application form.
