EDP Foundation launches a new edition of Solidarity Mobility
The EDP Foundation launches the second edition of Solidarity Mobility, its initiative to support social and environmental organizations in the transition towards more sustainable mobility and help them go further in the development of their projects.
The initiative stems from the EDP Foundation’s commitment to a just energy transition that leaves no one behind, and seeks to make it easier for the third sector to incorporate 100% electric mobility solutions. In this way, it helps reduce their carbon footprint and promote energy savings, while strengthening their capacity to carry out their social work.
The new call follows a first edition in Spain in which 20 social organizations were selected to incorporate 100% electric vehicles into their activity, with a combined forecast of benefiting 30,000 people and traveling more than 426,000 green kilometers per year.
“For some organizations, having a vehicle means being able to be where they are needed. With Solidarity Mobility we want to help them continue carrying out that work in a more sustainable way, show that the energy transition can have a very concrete impact on people’s lives, and ensure that the savings generated allow them to allocate more resources to their mission,” says Vanda Martins, director of the EDP Foundation.
With this second edition, the EDP Foundation wants to continue expanding that impact and make it easier for more organizations to incorporate electric mobility into their daily activities, turning it into a tool to improve their capacity for action and the reach of their social projects.
The program includes grants of 15,000 euros to support the incorporation of 100% electric vehicles through purchase, leasing, renting, or operational leasing. When the value of the vehicle is lower than that amount, the remaining funds can be allocated to associated assets, such as charging systems, panels for energy production, or charging cards for the power grid.
Interested organizations may submit their applications until November 30, 2026.
Solidarity Mobility thus reinforces the EDP Foundation’s commitment to linking energy transition and social impact, bringing the advantages of electric mobility closer to organizations whose ability to travel is essential to reach the people and communities they work with.
