EDP is the new sponsoring institution of the Pinacoteca
EDP, a company that operates in all segments of the Brazilian electricity sector, is the new sponsor of the Pinacoteca Art and Culture Association (APAC), one of the most important cultural and art organizations in the country, which includes the Pinacoteca de São Paulo with its three buildings: Pina Luz, Pina Estação, and Pina Contemporânea, as well as the Memorial da Resistência de São Paulo.
In a landmark year, in which it celebrates 50 years of operations worldwide and 30 years in Brazil, EDP joins APAC to announce another novelty: as a sponsor, the company is also supporting the new phase of the Museu da Casa Brasileira, which will gain a new headquarters in the historic Olivo Gomes Residence, in São José dos Campos, where EDP is the power distributor.
The site, a milestone of modern São Paulo architecture designed by Rino Levi in the 1950s, is undergoing conservation and adaptation works to host the museum’s activities later this semester. Located in Parque da Cidade Roberto Burle Marx, the residence brings together architecture, landscape, and industrial history, with landscape design by Roberto Burle Marx.
The initiative is carried out by the Department of Culture, Creative Economy and Industry of the State of São Paulo, in partnership with the São José dos Campos City Hall, the Cassiano Ricardo Cultural Foundation, and APAC, and is sponsored by EDP as maintainer. The support reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to Brazil and to the preservation and promotion of artistic and cultural heritage. In 2025, for example, the company invested around R$ 17 million in 54 cultural projects in several Brazilian states through state and federal incentive laws.
