EDP Gás Universal Service becomes Gas SU
Changing the name and image of the last resort gas trader operating in the North Coast of the country reinforces clarity and differentiation in the regulated market.
As of today, EDP Gás Serviço Universal, the company responsible for supplying natural gas to the regulated market in the North Coast region of Portugal, is now called Gás SU. This change aims to comply with the provisions of the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE), which requires a clear distinction between suppliers in the regulated and free markets, thus ensuring greater transparency for consumers.
In addition to the new name, Gás SU adopts a new visual identity (graphic image and colors) different from the other companies of the EDP group. The new image features an updated logo and the company uses a soft copper colour, strengthening the identity of Gás SU, which until now had a red identity.
"A renewed brand, the same company" is the motto that the company chose to present its new image. This change has already started to be communicated to customers and will continue to be gradually made. This process does not change the services provided to customers or the prices charged and the company remains committed to being a reliable partner in access to energy.
To inform more than 100,000 customers, the company began communicating this change with messages on invoices and with updates on the website and in the physical store, located at Rua Ofélia Diogo da Costa, in Porto. These communications are intended to prepare customers to recognise the new image and avoid any potential confusion with fraudulent entities.
With more than 30 years, Gás SU (formerly EDP Gas Universal Service) played a crucial role in the introduction of natural gas in Portugal. Today, the company remains committed to providing an accessible and transparent service to consumers in the regions of Porto, Braga and Viana do Castelo.
