EDP-Energias de Portugal, S.A. ("EDP") and Martifer, S.A. ("Martifer") signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the identification, analysis and eventual development of future partnerships in some specific projects in the areas of renewable and new energy sources, namely (i) on-shore wind power development projects with emphasis on Eastern Europe; (ii) off-shore wind power development projects in Portugal; (iii) hydro power development projects; (iv) new development projects in the areas of microgeneration, hydrogen fuel cells and biomass.

This MoU also contemplates the possibility of EDP acquiring from Martifer wind turbines and solar equipments on preferential conditions.

With this agreement, EDP and Martifer intend to promote the study of projects in which both companies may leverage on their complementary competitive advantages and know-how in the renewable and new energies? areas.
