Following EDP's communication of December 27, 2007, regarding the increase of Caixa Geral de Depósitos, S.A. ("CGD") ownership interest in the share capital of EDP to 5.24%, CGD informed of the following:

"CGD's participation, now communicated, results from the acquisition of 11 million shares, corresponding to 0.3% of EDP's share capital, in the OTC market on December 19, 2007, and completed on December 20, 2007 through the Trade Confirmation System - Euronext."
