JP Morgan decreases its ownership interest in the share capital of EDP
On May 22nd, 2015, JP Morgan Chase & Co. notified EDP regarding the decrease of a qualifying holding from 2.892% to 1.929% of EDP's share capital.
Pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of article 244 of the Portuguese Securities code and of the CMVM Regulation 5/2008, EDP - Energias de Portugal, S.A. ("EDP") is providing the following information to the market:
On May 22nd, 2015, JP Morgan Chase & Co. ("JP Morgan") notified EDP regarding the decrease of a qualifying holding from 2.892% to 1.929% of EDP's share capital. The holding decreased below 2.00% of EDP's share capital on May 21st, 2015, due to the sale of 15,000,000 by J.P. Morgan Securities, Plc.
As a result, JP Morgan currently holds 70,527,781 shares, representing 1.929% of EDP's share capital and 1.929% of the respective voting rights.
JP Morgan also informed about the chain of entities relevant for the calculation of the significant shareholding in accordance with number 1 of article 20 of the Portuguese Securities Code. All shares are held by J.P. Morgan Securities, Plc, which is fully owned by JP Morgan.
Of the 70,527,781 shares of EDP held by J.P. Morgan Securities, Plc, 51,776,064 are shares underlying financial instruments.
