EDP to power Turek dairy products production
EDP Energia Polska, a Polish division of EDP group - a European leader in distributed solar generation-, has signed a partnership with Turek, a renowned manufacturer of dairy products, to install solar panels that will be able to power Turek’s facilities in the city of Turek and reduce both CO2 emissions and energy costs.
Under this agreement, EDP will install 1,500 solar panels to provide clean and locally produced energy to the company's production lines. With an installed capacity of 1 MWp, the solar panels will be able to generate over 1 GWh of clean energy annually. This production is expected to reduce Turek’s carbon dioxide emissions by 685 tons annually compared to grid power consumption, which equals the CO2 absorption capacity of more than 114,000 mature trees over a year.
This deal was signed under EDP’s As-a-Service financial model, through which EDP is responsible for the initial investment, operation, and maintenance of the solar installation for the entire contract period, allowing Turek to have long-term visibility and flexibility.
EDP Energia Polska, as part of the global EDP group, actively participates in the energy transition process by providing clean and sustainable solutions to its clients. The group continuously strives for industry decarbonization and building a sustainable future, having already contracted 3 GWp in decentralized solar projects worldwide. The cooperation with Turek Dairy Plant exemplifies the group’s efforts to deliver tailored renewable energy solutions that support industrial decarbonization.
