EDP recognised worldwide as one of the best companies to work for in 2025
The international recognition of EDP and EDP Renováveis was reinforced this year with the entry of two new markets, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, expanding the scope of this certification to a total of thirteen countries.
EDP was recognised as a Top Employer 2025, achieving an average score higher than the average of companies globally and those in the energy sector. This recognition, awarded for eight consecutive years, is the result of EDP's commitment to seek continuous excellence in people management practices at a global level.
As the company has become increasingly global, this certification has also been expanding to different markets where EDP operates. Currently present in four regions of the globe — Europe, North America, South America and Asia-Pacific — EDP was once again recognised this year by the Top Employers Institute, reinforcing the group's position in Portugal, Spain and Brazil. In the case of EDP Renewables, the recognition covers Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Romania, Greece, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Singapore, and this year also includes the United Kingdom and the United States of America. Additionally, on the strength of its certification in more than five European countries, EDP Renováveis was elected the Top Employer Europe.
This recognition demonstrates EDP's increasingly global position (it currently has a workforce of around 13,000 employees) as an employer of choice.
EDP was rated in 20 different areas after the analysis of 350 management practices under the certification programme. In business strategy and ethics and integrity, the company achieved the maximum score, and stood out in digitalisation in human resources, work environment and efficiency. These results reflect the company's commitment to promoting an agile, balanced and development-oriented work environment for employees, while also responding to new global trends.
In line with its growth strategy, EDP invests in attracting professionals of excellence in various areas, creating specific programmes to attract talent. At the same time, it invests in continuous initiatives that enrich the work experience of teams, promoting an attractive, diverse and inclusive culture, focused on personal and professional development. Some of these initiatives include actions aimed at well-being, sustainability and valuing feedback, contributing to a more positive and dynamic work environment.
With more than 30 years of experience, the Top Employers Institute is a global reference in the recognition of best practices in people management, having already certified more than 2,000 organisations around the world.
The Top Employer 2025 certification demonstrates EDP's continued commitment to evolving as a global, agile and efficient organisation, offering an attractive and positive work environment, with a people-centered approach and a balance between their personal and professional needs.
