LeasePlan and EDP Comercial create a partnership to accelerate the transition to zero emissions mobility
LeasePlan and EDP Comercial announce a new partnership that creates an integrated electric mobility solution without carbon emissions. This agreement allows LeasePlan customers to choose a vehicle together with the best charging solution for it, at home or at the office, in accordance with their needs.
This integrated solution, resulting from the collaboration between the two companies, will cover all types of LeasePlan customers: Large Companies, SMEs and Individuals. It will be a turnkey solution – with charging solutions installed at the company or the home of the drivers. This new solution includes the charger, installation and maintenance, combined with the renting of an electric vehicle.
The two companies will work together to make the customer experience 100% digital, with new functionalities to be launched shortly: portals for managing the electric fleets of LeasePlan customers will be available to business customers, while individual customers can use the EDP Charge app.
António Oliveira Martins, Managing Director of LeasePlan, said: "Achieving the deadline for zero emissions is one of LeasePlan's strategic pillars. Through this partnership with EDP, we can now offer our customers not only electric vehicles, but a completely integrated solution. The choice of a national partner company like EDP, a benchmark in the energy sector, is another step along the path towards the future sustainability of mobility and demonstrates that LeasePlan can be counted on for the transition to electric mobility."
"This significant partnership with LeasePlan enables us to simplify a key moment in the transition towards sustainable mobility, which is being able to choose a vehicle together with the best charging option. It is only through partnerships between agents in the sector that it will be possible to make electric mobility ever more practical and accessible, turning it into a reality for ever more families and companies," said Pedro Vinagre, Director of EDP Comercial.
According to the latest edition of the Mobility InsightsReport produced by LeasePlan (see Survey) a survey of over 5,000 drivers in 22 countries, including Portugal, found that two in every three drivers has a (very) positive attitude in relation to electric vehicles, an attitude that has changed for the better over the last three years, with Portugal being named in the report as the country with the most positive attitude. It was found that 77% of the Portuguese drivers believe that the majority of new vehicles in 2030 will be electric or with zero emissions. The Portuguese market has an increasing appetite for the transition to electric vehicles.
