EDPR secures 50 MW long-term contract in Northern Indiana, United States
Pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of the article 17 of Regulation (EU) No. 596/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council and of article 248-A of the Portuguese Securities code, EDP - Energias de Portugal, S.A. (“EDP”) is providing the following information to the market:
EDP Renováveis, S.A. (“EDPR”), 82.6% controlled by EDP, announced today that its subsidiary, EDP Renewables North America LLC, secured a long-term contract with Nestlé in the United States to sell the energy produced by 50 MW from Meadow Lake VI wind farm.
Meadow Lake VI wind farm project had initially secured long-term contracts for 150 MW, as announced in August 2017. The project, that will now total 200 MW, is located in the State of Indiana with start of operations expected for 2018.
With this new arrangement EDPR has already secured 1.3 GW of long-term agreements in the US, for projects to be installed in 2016-2020, securing 71% of the 1.8 GW of target capacity additions in the US for the period, as announced at EDP’s Capital Markets Day in May 2016.
EDPR will continue to execute its growth strategy based on the development of competitive projects with long-term visibility.
