EDP launches campaign to strengthen the brand in Brazil

Friday 08, February 2019

Under the motto "Connecting you to what matters", the initiative will be launched in São Paulo, Espírito Santo and Santa Catarina, states where the company sells and distributes energy.

EDP Brasil has just launched its new institutional campaign "Connecting you to what matters."The goal is to present the image of EDP Brazil as an friendly company, providing energy for the most special moments in customers' lives.

The advertising campaign, signed by the Gad agency, will be broadcast during February on radio and television channels, as well as in newspapers and digital platforms, in the states in which EDP Brazil distributes and markets energy: São Paulo, Espírito Santo and Santa Catarina. The campaign video, inspired by a concept created by the Havas Agency for EDP in Portugal, features Portuguese actor Ricardo Pereira, who has an established career in theater and television, both in Portugal and in Brazil.

"EDP Brazil intends to position itself as a strong, humane and innovative brand in Brazil, as it is in Portugal and in other markets where it operates. With this campaign, we will show millions of Brazilians that we are involved in the moments that are most important to them, from the production of energy to its consumption in people's homes", says Paulo Campos Costa, EDP's Global Communications Director.

With this initiative, the company aims at increasing brand awareness in each of the areas in which it operates.

Overall responsibility

EDP supplies power to 70 of the 78 municipalities in the State of Espírito Santo, where it has 1.5 million customers, and in the State of São Paulo, where it reaches 28 municipalities and 1.8 million customers. In Santa Catarina, the company is the main shareholder of CELESC, owning 23.56% of its share capital.

Because EDP believes that energy helps to transform people's lives, it seeks to be an agent of social transformation in the regions where it is present. Through the EDP Institute, the company directly and indirectly supports communities with projects and initiatives in the fields of education, environment, entrepreneurship, sports, leisure and culture. Created 10 years ago, the EDP Institute has already supported communities with more than R$ 100 million, which reached over 3 million people.
