EDP joins the Portugal #EntraEmCena movement to promote and support the national culture
Artists, public and private entities, foundations and brands join forces in an unprecedented movement around culture
EDP joins the Portugal #EntraEmCena movement, an unprecedented project which brings together artists, brands, public and private companies in a collaborative effort to safeguard culture and its stakeholders at this critical moment for the sector.
This movement will allow artists to launch ideas and obtain investment for the conception and development phase through a digital marketplace. Private and public companies can also find talent and ideas proposed by artists here and challenge them to develop new artistic projects, choosing the ones they intend to remunerate now.
Thus, EDP joins other entities which are well-known for supporting and investing in culture in a unique movement, with the institutional support from the Ministry of Culture.
According to Paulo Campos Costa, EDP's global brand, marketing and communication director: “Culture is one of EDP's strategic pillars. We support many events throughout the year, not only in Portugal, but also in other countries where we are present. Therefore, we could not remain indifferent to this support movement, especially at this critical moment caused by Covid-19."
Everyone knows that this period is particularly adverse for all those who have seen their sources of income canceled or postponed, so the starting point of this movement is that, from the collaboration generated in the digital platform, more investment will arise in this sector and in projects which can happen now (from home), when normal activity is resumed or during the next year.
This movement represents a global investment of over one million euros through this platform, in projects that cannot exceed 20,000 euros each - many more entities can join. This transformative movement comes into play so that culture doesn't become another victim of the coronavirus. It aims to guarantee the country's cultural identity and sustainability - now and forever.
