EDP Comercial signed today, in Tondela, electricity supply contracts for the facilities of the municipalities of the Intermunicipal Community Viseu Dão Lafões (CIMVDL), which aggregates, for the first time, all the consumption points in medium voltage, special low voltage and standard low voltage, including street lighting.
These contracts will guarantee the supply of the 14 municipalities of the CIM Viseu Dão Lafões and eight other entities - IPSS, Humanitarian Associations (list of entities attached) - from both the regulated and the free markets.
With the completion of the contest, developed in partnership with the local Energy Agency, the CIM Viseu Dão Lafões now meets conditions so that all the associated entities benefit from a single price, ensuring the stability of the energy price for 12 months, which will allow for a saving of almost 500,000 euros, the overall value of the contracts.
The joining up of all entities of the CIM Viseu Dão Lafões made the contractual process easier. About 78 million kWh/ year (close to 4,300 points of consumption, including about 2,600 of public lighting) were tendered through this acquisition procedure, which represents a significant volume, making this tender one of the most relevant of last year's in the area of power supply to municipalities.
