EDP and CTG are offering 50 ventilators, 200 monitors and medical equipment to portuguese hospitals
With this initiative, the two companies intend to collaborate with the collective efforts of medical personnel to address the most critical situations caused by COVID-19. Equipment will be delivered to the Ministry of Health.
EDP - Energias de Portugal and China Three Gorges (CTG), in coordination with the Ministry of Health and with the support of the portuguese Embassy in Beijing, acquired 50 ventilators and 200 medical monitors, as well as their associated consumables and support equipment, for a total of around 4 million euros.
This medical equipment — already approved by the Ministry of Health — may prove to be crucial for all those who are most critically affected by COVID-19, especially at a time when world stocks have been insufficient for the high demand. The ventilators and monitors will be ready to travel on March 27th and are expected to arrive in Portugal at the end of the month, when they will be delivered to the Ministry of Health.
With this initiative, EDP - Energias de Portugal and China Three Gorges (CTG) are joining the collective efforts of medical teams in the field to fight this epidemic. This is an action joined by about two thousand EDP employees on the ground, in dispatch centers and production centers, to ensure that energy reaches all portuguese homes.
