Capital Group decreases its ownership interest in the share capital of EDP

Capital Group notified EDP that, it had decreased its qualifying shareholding to 548,071,919 ordinary shares of EDP, which correspond to 14.989% of EDP's share capital and 14.989% of the respective voting rights.

Pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of article 244 of the Portuguese Securities code and of the CMVM Regulation 5/2008, EDP - Energias de Portugal, S.A. ("EDP") is providing the following information to the market:

 

On August 13th, 2016, Capital Group notified EDP that, in accordance with article 20 of the Portuguese Securities Code, it had decreased its qualifying shareholding to 548,071,919 ordinary shares of EDP, which correspond to 14.989% of EDP's share capital and 14.989% of the respective voting rights. Capital Group crossed the 15% threshold of shareholding in EDP on August 11th 2016. The previous known qualifying shareholding of Capital Group in EDP's share capital stood at 15.54%.

 

Capital Group also informed that the chain of entities, whose shareholding exceeds the 2% threshold, relevant for the calculation of the significant shareholding in accordance with number 1 of article 20 of the Portuguese Securities Code is the following:
