EDP Volunteers has been associating itself with some associations, such as the Refugee Support Platform and Serve the City, to organize lunches and dinners for socially fragile people or people in an unfavourable context.
Solidarity at the table
EDP Volunteers joined up with the Refugee Support Platform (PAR) to hold a lunch and activities for around 200 refugees supported by this platform on 21 December 2022 in Lisbon.
In addition to lunch and activities, solidarity gifts and baskets were delivered to all beneficiaries, with the participation of 18 volunteers who devoted a total of 2,268 hours to this solidarity initiative.
Community dinners
EDP allied itself to Serve the City, in order to support the community dinners held by this association every two weeks. They consist of a moment of sharing, a meal and life stories, between 130 volunteers and 170 people in situations of social fragility, who sit down, dine side by side and meet each other eye to eye. Started in 2018, with the support of the European Commission, this project has been supported by a number of partners, including EDP.
The community dinners are essentially a regular meeting between people from various backgrounds, including homeless people. Serve the City aims to "build bridges between people, institutions and territories, through volunteer actions, so that we can make the City more fair, fraternal and solidary."
