Brazil's architectural heritage
On the occasion of the celebrations of the Bicentenary of Brazil's Independence, EDP Brasil supported the publication of the book-album "Relíquias - Patrimônio Arquitetônico do Sul do Brasil", by photographer Fernando Chiriboga, a bilingual collection (PT/ENG), composed of 250 images and texts on the architectural legacy of the South of the country.
Fernando Chiriboga was responsible for the editorial project "Relíquias-Bicentenário da Independência do Brasil - 2022", a collection of four books, each containing a photographic record of the architectural heritage of the regions of Brazil.
The idea followed the publication, in 2014, of the book "Relíquias - Patrimônio Arquitetônico do Nordeste do Brasil", reissued in 2019. The rich heritage revealed by the Northeast edition paved the way for the historic cities of the South and Southeast to also be eternalized.
The second book, "Relics - Architectural Heritage of Southeast Brazil", reveals 250 photographs, selected from more than 12,000 images captured in four states and 18 cities visited by the photographer.
Born in the Ecuadorian Andes, Fernando Chiriboga began his career as a professional photographer in 1990, focusing on architecture and nature photography. His first book, which portrays the Atlantic Forest of Rio Grande do Sul, was released in 2014.
