In Portugal, tutoring students from underprivileged backgrounds.
EDP, in collaboration with EPIS Association, gathered volunteers to provide Portuguese and mathematics explanations to 2nd and 3rd cycle students from underprivileged backgrounds.
Every hour counts
In this second edition, the Hora Mais project, supported by EDP, brought together volunteers who were able to provide Portuguese and mathematics explanations to 2nd and 3rd cycle students from underprivileged social and/or family backgrounds.
The students who benefited from this support were identified by EPIS Association - Empresários pela Inclusão Social (Entrepreneurs for Social Inclusion), which supports young people in preparing themselves and developing personal and professional skills that will be useful for their professional future and their daily lives. Since 2011, it dynamizes volunteer programs with companies.
Each student is accompanied online by two volunteers, on a rotating basis (alternating every 15 days), during part of the school year. The initiative, which began in January 2023 and runs until June 30, 2023, supports students from schools in the areas of Lisbon, Porto, Figueira da Foz, Alenquer - locations where EDP operates.
