In Spain, combatting depopulation and vulnerability in Fuentes de Ebro.
As part of the EDP Solidarity initiative, the EnergizArte Rural project was awarded, whose mission is to use energy and art to improve the lives of the inhabitants of Fuentes de Ebro.
Art against depopulation
EDP has supported the EnergizArte Rural project, one of the awardees in the 2022 edition of EDP Solidarity, which aims to combat depopulation and vulnerability in Fuentes de Ebro, Zaragoza.
Mission of the EnergizArte project
The project, by ECODES, aims to bring energy culture to this municipality of 4800 inhabitants in Zaragoza, contributing to the improvement of the living conditions of its inhabitants. Using art and energy to broaden the knowledge of its participants, it aims to ensure access to clean and affordable energy, contribute to the efficiency and comfort of their homes and improve the public space.
Initiatives
The project consists of the following initiatives:
- Opening of an Energy Office, located at Avenida San Miguel, 3, which will act as an information point, available to all residents of Fuentes de Ebro, and where it will be possible to obtain clarifications on the billing of energy services, energy savings, self-consumption and energy communities, energy rehabilitation, support and available sources of financing. The office will be open fortnightly on Tuesdays.
- In collaboration with ASALTO Proyectos Culturales, an artistic mural, inspired by the theme of energy and the rural environment, will be created on a wall of the municipality, which will contribute to beautify and energize the public space.
- Housing rehabilitation and solar installation: in coordination with the municipal social services, eight houses of vulnerable families will be selected for refurbishment, with the aim of increasing energy efficiency, providing clean energy and improving thermal comfort.
- Energy workshops: throughout 2023, three workshops will be held on: energy contracting and efficiency at home, self-consumption and energy communities and energy rehabilitation of housing.
- Artistic workshops: three workshops will be held throughout 2023, based on different methodologies and techniques of artistic expression.
