In Spain, energizing the rural areas of Aragon and promoting the consumption of local products.
EDP has financed the El Pueblo me alimenta project (The village feeds me project) which focuses on energizing the rural areas of Aragon and promoting the consumption of local products.
Consuming locally
EDP supported the "El Pueblo me alimenta" (The Village Feeds Me) project, as part of the "Rural Development" initiative, which will be implemented by the Leader Groups of Aragon (including Adecuara), in partnership with the Adefo Cinco Villas Group.
Adefo Cinco Villas, coordinator of "Pon Aragón en tu mesa" (Put Aragon on your table) introduced the project, with the aim of continuing to contribute to the economic dynamization of rural areas of Aragon by promoting the consumption of local products.
"Al aldeia alimenta-me" received a grant of 35,000 euros (75% of the total estimated investment), to carry out the following actions, in partnership with the Leader Groups of Aragon:
1. "From the village to the city"
Producers go to the city to make their products known, through presentations, tastings and tastings.
2. "From the city to the village"
Conducting agricultural experiences, visits to production spaces and fields, highlighting the origin of the products and their context, also carrying out a work of disclosure of rural areas and their values.
3. "Buy, Cook and Tell"
Promotion of interaction between producers and consumers, through conversations and suggestions about the purchase and use of food.
4. "Green production spaces"
Personalized advice to producers, so they can learn about the best solutions for their business.
5. "Connected Foods"
Creation of an online platform, which acts as a showcase and tool of exchange and mutual support for agri-food producers, making known their products, rural areas, and promoting contact between professionals and consumers.
