Espírito Santo's biggest film event
EDP supported the 29th edition of the Vitória Film Festival (FCV), the biggest film event in Espírito Santo, Brazil, which took place from September 19 to 25, 2022. As part of this edition, the 22nd Little Film Festival also took place, whose programming included short films for children and teenagers, aimed at public school students from the Greater Vitória area.
Program
The 29th edition of the Vitória Film Festival, which resumed the presential format after two virtual editions, took place in several venues: the Sesc Glória Cultural Center, the Cine Metrópolis, the Federal University of Espírito Santo, the Golden Tulip Porto Vitória hotel, and the Vasco Coutinho State Center for Technical Education in the city of Vila Velha.
With more than 90 hours of programming, the event included the screening of 83 films, divided into 13 exhibitions, debates with the directors, the awarding of prizes, four training courses (with 128 participants), a tribute to the actress Bete Mendes and to the Espírito Santo artist Sebastião Ribeiro Filho, aka Tião Xará, and transformed, for these days, the city of Vitória into the capital of cinema.
Impact of the event
More than 15 thousand people attended in person, and more than 90 thousand people followed the event through social networks. This consolidated the importance and the role of this event as a space for recognition and exchange of ideas and experiences that strengthen and give continuity to the cultural and audiovisual production in the country.
The jobs and income generated were also one of the main direct impacts of this initiative, which counted with the collaboration of five thousand people, having directly generated 162 jobs and more than one thousand indirect jobs.
