We believe that sharing what we know and do is the best way to ensure that our energy turns into action. Especially in times of emergency, it is essential to find extra energy and take action now in order to help those that need the most.
To celebrate the Energy Week and EDP's 10 years of volunteering, we highlight a set of initiatives that took place from May 24th to 30th.

Energy classes
EDP employees take their energy to schools, through dynamic and fun classes on the basic concepts of energy. As a way of supporting these volunteers, the classes start with an Energy Kit, adapted for virtual classes.
This is also a good tool for parents to teach their children about the importance of responsible energy consumption and how to protect our planet - educating the new generation with the help of everyone!
Language classes to battle social isolation
SPEAK is a Portuguese startup that promotes an innovative methodology to battle social isolation and promote the creation of support networks through the learning of a new language. It works via videoconference, in small intensive groups for anyone who wants to learn or practice a language and be closer to others.
Ajuda de Berço
This is a field action, in partnership with Just a Change. This week took place at the Ajuda de Berço Reception Center - which welcomes children between 2 and 9 years old who cannot be with their families. Employees, friends and families came together to contribute to the transformation of these children's homes!

Feed this idea
The pandemic has aggravated food needs within Portuguese communities, so EDP Volunteers joined Banco Alimentar and ENTRAJUDA once again and launched the campaign Feed this idea (Alimente esta ideia). The campaign ran until the end of May. At the end of the campaign, EDP doubled the donations made by its employees.
